It's always easy to find
SOMETHING
TO DO
Besides an unlimited number of shopping and watersports activities – surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, SCUBA diving and more – recreation opportunities include taking a scenic harbor cruise, sailing the Intracoastal Waterway and chartering a boat for deep-sea fishing. For land-lovers who still want a beautiful water view, there’s fishing off Johnnie Mercers Pier, birdwatching or jogging The Loop fitness trail. The Wrightsville Beach Museum of History showcases the island’s 100-year-old history through exhibits and self-guided walking tours.
Voted North Carolina's favorite beach destination for experiences.
TOP SURFING
SPOT
The Outer Banks isn’t the only place for surfing in North Carolina. Wrightsville Beach is just as well known – indeed, National Geographic calls it one of the top surfing towns in the world. The positioning on the coast makes this the perfect spot for getting great storm-made waves, especially during hurricane season. Outside of hurricane season, conditions are perfect for beginners. Most surfers appreciate that the water is warm here, too.
